Tours.
Hm... After some days of cycling along so many old towns, Tours didn't matched.
Maybe the bad weather took it's turn, or my mood. But when I walked along this old city, I felt... kinda bored?
But surprisingly, I've learned, that St. Martin is burried there.
St. Martin is famous here in southern Germany. A lot of children celebrate this day and walking with selfmade lanterns on this dark 11th November evening.

Hopefully the dude after me catched another wagon. But he had less luggage with him. Probably he could been fast enough.

When I started in the morning, I Just wanted to cycle on. But when I saw the Skyline of Blois in front of me, it was clear that I have to look at it. So I crossed the Bridge and cycled s little bit through this old and impressive streets. ☺️

The oldest but not the most famose one.

A day off.
Needed!
Doing laundry, listening to raindrops on the tent and got a new pen, so I can do my homework now. 😉
A little bit delaied... 😅
When I arrived the big nuclear power plant (you cycle so near along this one) at Neuvy-sur-Loire, I left the Loire.
I've pedaled uphill in this hot sun of noon and passed almost deserted villages. If there wasn't a dog barking, I would say it would be really lost.
I hoped for water at Arquian, but there was only a broken oldish water pump (thx for nothing osm! 😭)
Luckily I've got a super nice road through forest - and downhill.
So I survived. 🥵😉
Later I came along this wonderful view over a Village called "La Charité-sur-Loire".
So I decided to cross the river and take a proper look at it.
Cycling uphill in this cute old town felt like riding in medival times. (Yes I'm a dreamer. 😇)
Even the history is interesting. Did you know Jeanne d'Arc sieged this one and failed?

The next morning I get out of my tent, the other bikepackers were already gone. 😅 (7:30!)
Early birds they are.
So I started this day with sunshine and easy cycling paths along a Canal.
This Canal ended, when it go over (!) the Loire River. 🤯😅
Super fun to ride along this. 🚴♀️
The River Loire is a wilder one as the Rhine or Danube. A lot of sandbanks and birds. Old, grey-colorful houses along the way.
At this time I got my cycling flow back. 😊
When the train spit me out in this rainy and grey town called Nevers, me and my bike fell down the stairs at the station. I thought this will be a absolutely f**ed up story of bikepacking.
Pedaling through old streets up and down in rain, finally reached the campside, pitched the tent - and the sun came out! 🙂
A sunny evening walk through the city lifted up my mind. But even if I liked this oldish town, I didn't felt welcomed and secure...
