I’m going to play it safe! Changed my Eurostar reservation to the later train.

Avanti West Coast stats for the last couple of weeks on this route are not pretty - look at Tuesday 26th!

Only 36% of my target train’s (12:48) journeys have arrived less than 10mins late.

The #European #Railway Agency (ERA) has granted marketing authorisation for the new TGV-M high-speed train, confirming its compliance with safety and interoperability rules. Developed through a partnership between SNCF Voyageurs and Alstom, the eco-friendly train features a 20% capacity increase to 740 seats, 20% energy savings, and a 32% reduction in carbon emissions.

Manufacturing deliveries will begin this June, with 13 trainsets expected by the end of 2026. Ahead of the official launch, SNCF Voyageurs and Alstom will run an extensive pre-commercial trial on the French rail network this summer to familiarise crew and finalise operational adjustments. Operating under the TGV INOUI brand, the next-generation train is scheduled to welcome its first commercial passengers in early September. #Eurostar and #SNCF Voyageurs have ordered 160 of the new trainsets.
