A new report warns that Europe faces the growing threat of heat stress, a condition that occurs when the body cannot cool down properly and can lead to serious health problems. The report estimates that heat stress could cause more than 300,000 deaths per year in Europe by 2100, as well as reduce labor productivity and increase energy demand.
