Next was an important panel on #data and #migrant rights with Teresa Quintel, Wojciech Wiewiorowski, Alyna Smith, and Sarah Chandler at #EuropeanDigitalRights. As data is collected about migrants, it can be used to facilitate their legal entry or impinge on fundamental rights. Next was a panel on social #injustice and #tech around the Dutch child benefits scandal with Sanne Stevens, Merel Koning, and Nadia Benaissa at #EuropeanDigitalRights. This scandal is shocking, but illustrates both the issues with blindly trusting #algorithms and the central role that people play in their development and implementation.
