Riccardo Freda's The Horrible Dr Hichcock (1962) is overcooked overdone overblown outrageous. A mad scientist with a thing for dead girls. Madness and very unhealthy sexual obsessions. Barbara Steele is excellent. Shades of Hitchcock's Rebecca.

The Killer Is One of Thirteen (1973) is a Spanish giallo or rather proto-giallo, these films being stylish decadent erotic thrillers rather than gorefests. Sadly this one has the decadence but it's slow, very unsexy and not stylish enough.

A Quiet Place To Kill (1970) is a superb stylish early-period Umberto Lenzi giallo. Lots of twisted emotional and erotic relationships that take deadly and unexpected turns. Carroll Baker is fantastic. I love pre-Argento giallos.

Four Times That Night is a Mario Bava movie. It's Rashomon done as a sex comedy. Made in 1968 but not released until 1971 by which time it seemed very tame. It's not much admired even by Bava fans but I enjoyed it. Great 60s Bava visuals.

The Strange Countess (1961) an early entry in the German Rialto Edgar Wallace krimi cycle. There's dirty work afoot in a castle. A first-rate krimi with a definite gothic horror vibe, hints of madness and some nods to German Expressionism.

I'd describe A Lizard in a Woman’s Skin (1971) as a proto-giallo and it has psychiatry, madness, decadence and style. Don't worry about the plot, just let Lucio Fulci play with your head. One of his best.
