I'd never heard of a Hooded Crow before, but when I saw some images of them I simply had to draw one. The black "hood" that stretches down over the chest seemed to end in diamond-shaped patterns to me, much like a jester or harlequin figure. It is simply one of the most beautiful birds I've ever (not) seen.

Alrighty, the second of the two Blue Jays that I drew in this series is available today!!

This one is the darkest of the three, the most "dramatic", which was totally an accident and something that I have tried to emulate in my more recent pieces. There's something "Old Masters"-ish about this one that I really like. Darkening the background made a huge change in the emotional tone of the imagery making it richer and deeper in my opinion, more "Classical".
