Blog - #EternalLies from the Keeper's perspective

TL;DR: A guest post from the Keeper in our Eternal Lies #trailofcthulhu #ttrpg campaign, giving their reflections on the campaign as a counterpoint to mine. There are spoilers, obviously.

Hat tip to @pelgranepress for such a fantastic campaign. And thanks to Rich for agreeing to let me share this.

Eternal Lies - From the Keeper's perspective (Spoilers)

I posted a write up on my reflections on Pelgrane Press' excellent  Trail of Cthulhu campaign Eternal Lies  back in June. Rich, our Keeper...

Blog - Eternal Lies - Saving the world at a cost

This is my final write up from our #EternalLies campaign using the #TrailofCthulhu #ttrpg which we recently completed after 48 sessions and four years.

There are spoilers, obviously. Hat tip to @TheTweedmeister
and Rich, plus @pelgranepress.

Eternal Lies - Saving the world at a cost (Significant Spoilers in final part)

After 48 sessions, our run through of the Trail of Cthulhu  roleplaying game's  Eternal Lies campaign came to an end. This was a journey ...

We finished #EternalLies for @pelgranepress's #TrailofCthulhu #ttrpg tonight. I'm still in shock from the ending.

48 sessions since 2021 (we had a hiatus year).

Played as a duo with @TheTweedmeister and run by Rich.

It all came down to a roll at the end. @TheTweedmeister was going to save my character from the void. All he had to roll was anything but a '1' on a D6.

Our characters, firm and fast friends parted as the hyperspace gate closed, a lingering touch from the hand that didn't save.

Tonight, in @pelgranepress's #EternalLies, we contrived a Great Old One to be wiped from existence. It may not have been a wise choice.

Hat tip to @TheTweedmeister and Rich.

We realised that we still had more to investigate in Bangkok in @pelgranepress's #EternalLies tonight. Both @TheTweedmeister and my characters are severely changed by their experiences and it becomes more apparent that a return to normality for them is probably off the cards. That makes all the more bittersweet that we have just let an NPC we trust into the secret of what is going on.

Blog - On Tuesday night we moved into the endgame of the #EternalLies campaign for @pelgranepress's #trailofcthulhu #ttrpg. It was a chance to reflect and take stock, as both @TheTweedmeister and I dug through and compared the copious amounts of notes that we have made.

Our conclusion is that we have been scratching at the surface, and that deep insights are few and far between. The Liar obfuscates and thwarts, but we will move on, and perhaps even prevail.

Trail of Cthulhu - Eternals Lies moves into the endgame (minor spoilers)

Everyone smiling. We returned to Eternal Lies on Tuesday night, some four years on from starting this epic Trail of Cthulhu  campaign. We'd...

Coming towards the end of the Thai part of @pelgranepress ‘s #EternalLies for #trailofcthulhu - lots of danger and tension, but we prevailed thanks to an improvised plan.

Hat tip to @jamesthomson for the fantastic Watch Dice app and to @TheTweedmeister for being the other half of our duo of players.

We finished the Ethiopian part of @pelgranepress's #EternalLies for the #trailofcthulhu #ttrpg tonight. Wedidn't succeed in finding the missing professor but @TheTweedmeister's character learned an unpalatable truth about himself and his connections. What a fantastic campaign!
