I’ve tracked 197 #migraine episodes since May 2020.

2020–Oct 2025 Baseline: High-frequency, ~3 attacks/month, 7-day median gap. Severity typically 5–8 on a pain scale, peaking at 10.

Since #HRT and #estrogen: The median gap is 10 days, with much lower severity, averaging 1 on a pain scale with an occasional 4 breakthrough.

For you #perimenopause folks who find that migraines worsened in what might have been early perimenopause (before periods fluctuate), doctors may warn you that estrogen might worsen your migraines. But it might also be the thing that makes them better? It’s clearly dramatically helped me.

I’m basically back to the level I was when I first went in and was like “I seem to be having kinda frequent headaches? Can you help?” and got diagnosed with chronic migraine.

#estrogen injected!

@SleepyCatten Sadly it's not that easy!

  • In fact you need some really professional gear if you want a slow, prolonged release and not merely a delayed release post-stomach, because that requires layering with specific carrier media and really is challenging.
    • Even for material scientists and pharmacologists unless they know exactly the kind of medication they have to target and where it should be released, it's really hard for anything gastrointernally consumed.

The most efficient and slow release I know is transdermal, tho that does come with issues of it's own.

  • I mean, #Gynokadin and other #Estrogen gels are alcohol-soluble and gel'd with glycerin to enshure proper application.
    • And just like with transdermal Fentanyl patches, unless the applicant is also the patient, it's basically necessary to use latex or nitrile gloves.
Shortage of estrogen patches in B.C. but officials say not to worry

Besides having to do things like move to #NYC and before that empty a two-bedroom apartment filled with too much shit, take care of #Medicare finally, deal with updating #Medicaid and not taking my #estrogen shots on time, etc. LOL. Besides opening an art store finally. And publishing fiction. Sigh.
