Went of #cycle trip in Brampton / Caledon.
First time on the GO #Train with its #bicycle carriage. Really great!!!
The view from the #Escarpment was spectacular. The climb up not so much, plus detours around the area.
Stopped at a local cidery, Spirit Tree. A nice break along the 72km day.
Too bad this area is going to be seriously transformed by the 413 Highway.
Now the local residents are also trying to fight Swan Lake from being filled in, a rehabilitated quarry.
The Greater Toronto really could be world destination for cycling, with just a bit of work like paving road shoulders. This was just a simple day trip, no car needed.
Went for a #cycle today. Took the Go commuter train from #Toronto to Brampton (Mount Pleasant). Cycled to the Bad Lands, saw the little Brampton airport.
Much of the rail trail in Caledon was detoured, so had to climb more hills than I thought. It's all #Escarpment riding in southern #Ontario
Stopped in at Terra Cotta park.
Everything in the Greater Toronto Area is reachable by bicycle and train, if the municipalities and province put in a bit more work, this would be a world cycling destination.
Much of this area will be diminished with the new 413 Highway cutting into it.
Biking has its ups and downs. But there is no downside to a beautiful evening ride.
#Cycled up to the Cheltenham Badlands in #Ontario #Canada https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/695986355
Used the commuter GO Train from Bloor Station to Mt. Pleasant Station and #biked up Creditview Rd.
Great day for it, a good cool temperature. Some 'fun' hill climbing up the #Escarpment
