This one hit me — they had people answering calls from residents in danger/anguish who had no training in handling calls like this.

Poloncarz on 858-SNOW call support: We had to move some people off taking these calls due to the severity and seriousness of the calls. When you're talking to people for continuous hours and they are afraid they'll die... We had people working in those call centers who weren't trained for that. It was a very mentally exhausting task, and I want to thank every one of the people manning those calls. You have saved lives.
