Why do all my favorite Elden Ring characters have such gut-wrenching endings?
Diallos ends up dying protecting the Jar-Bairn and baby pots. The Jar-Bairn survives but all his village has died and he needs to begin his "pilgrimage" as a warrior jar.
Alexander goes through the game as the friendliest, Solaire-like potbro and the last quest mission is to challenge him to the death. I know it's a point of pride for him to die in glorious battle, but I still felt like a monster as his giblets showered out of the broken jar.
Hewg loses his damn mind while smithing, desperate to smith a God-slaying armament while still repenting to Marika for his "sin" of not being human.
By the end of the game, the Roundtable is nearly deserted, the place burning due to Melina's sacrifice. All you have is those creepy ass Fingers who are "convening with the Greater Will".
I feel like the moral of the story is nothing gold can stay.
