Yeah. The forced subscription walled garden ecosystem is a major reason why we skipped the #Chevy #EquinoxEV. As a #Michigan family tired of getting flack for owning a #Toyota #Prius, we had been excited for it for over a year.

But after delays and (loss/lack of) features announced we went with the #Hyundai #Ioniq5.

Got more crap for buying another foreign #car, but then found the stickers show the "foreign" Ioniq 5 has substantially higher percentage of #USA parts than the "domestic" Chevy.

The saga begins. Took my new 2024 Chevy Equinox EV in for its first free maintenance at George Chevrolet in Bellflower. The main job: a simple tire rotation. You'd think that would be straightforward. Spoiler: it wasn't.

In happy news, today I had my most efficient commute that I can recall. It's been my goal to get my commute down to 10kWh for my 44 mile mostly interstate commute. Traffic helps.

In comparison, it's like running a classic Easy-Bake Oven for 4 days.

This compares to my gas car requiring equivalent to about 45 kWh of gas generating about 12kg of CO2 versus about 2.4kg using my utility's typical figure.
