Mais pourquoi faire ?!!

Et pour y couler de la résine transparente ! C'est la 1ere fois que j'utilisais de la résine, j'appréhendais un peu parce que j'avais pas trop trop le droit à l'erreur pour cette 1ere fois...

Donc j'ai commencé par badigeonner de résine le trou et les poissons, puis j'ai rempli le fond en y plaçant les poissons.

Le gros poisson tenait tout seul, mais j'ai dû usé d'une ruse pour placer le petit poisson à base de carton et d'une aiguille.
Il faisait froid chez moi, donc ça a mis du temps pour se solidifier un peu.

Ce matin, je me suis réveillée et j'étais ravie ! C'était tout beau et ça tenait bien en place, yeah ! C'est parti pour la couche finale !

Je fais mes préparatifs, je verse dans le trou, il y a quelques bulles, mais j'arrive à les enlever.
Je couvre pour protéger, et j'ai envie de regarder à quoi ça ressemble 15min après. J'ai bien fait parce qu'il y a eu plein de petites bulles qui se sont formées !

Pas de panique, j'utilise le décapeur thermique en restant à distance pour les faire éclater. Mais ça marchait pas et il y avait encore plus de bulles 😭
C'était un peu la panique ! Je prends une petite aiguille à coudre pour les percer et les évacuer. Et là je me rends compte que la surface a commencé à se solidifier avec les bulles 😬
Alors j'ai commencé à enlever des morceaux de résine toute molle, c'était la catastrophe, ça ne faisait qu'empirer 😱

Bon, j'ai arrêté le désastre, j'ai accepté qu'il y ait des bulles, et puis finalement ça rend ok. La surface n'est pas aussi lisse que ce que j'imaginais, il y a quelques bulles si on regarde bien, mais c'est quand même réussi.

Et voilà ! J'ai un petit aquarium terrestre maintenant !!!!

So I made a handful of glitter antifa buttons for #39c3 . I got inspired by the ADHD rabbit from @blackmosquito , and the silver glitter stickers that spawned at last Congress. And while I love the Auti dinosaur and ADHD rabbit designs, I was bummed that I found no antifa design for hidden disabilities, which also doubles as a hidden disability marker.

So I made one myself 🤷

And given the excitement by others, I also included some buttons of the https://black-mosquito.org design as well.

Because you know. Resin and glitter and there cannot be enough of it 😅

Anyway. Within the limited time i had available to figure this out, I could not come up with a reasonable solution for mass producing these.

So unfortunately, I only have a very limited number available. So I'm sad to announce: they will not be publicly available at congress. They are all unique and a lot of work went into each single one.

(And for the record: I'm not selling them either, which was never the plan anyway. It's just a fun crafting project.)

How to glitter antifa buttons.
Continued and finished.

I actually did this yesterday, but given I was way too busy with #39c3 preparations, I simply had no time to document.

Step ?+5) sand down rough edges with Dremel, wear mask and protection against fine plastic dust.

The buttons now look very milky and horrible around the edges and need another cover up layer of UV resin.

?+6) carefully smear the front rim with UV resin layer and subsequently cure with UV light.

In the image you can see how the sanded down rim magically disappears as soon as it is covered in resin again.

?+7) it gets crowded under the light, so keep turning and shifting buttons around to make sure all of them get cured from all sides

?±8) repeat steps 6+7 for the back as well.

DONE!!!

If this sounds easy: simply the steps from this toot alone kept me busy all day, giving me muscle aches from sanding and some back pain from crouching again and again.

The work behind these simple steps took me around 14h of work (with some other minor resin project mixed in).

So to conclude: if you you thought this sounded like an easy project, you're wrong 😂
