Several days ago, I was forced into a situation that all too many of my fellow #Covid cautious people deal with on a regular basis: Being around sick people and unable to just leave. In my case, it was Jury duty, and I spent much of the several hours it took to not get picked sitting nearby a woman who was sniffling and hacking up a lung. Meanwhile, the courtroom was a sad symphony of coughs.

I meditated on the breaths through my excellent fit-tested #Envomask, an elastomeric #N95, with my eyes closed as much as possible. Four days and two molecular tests later, I'm feeling fine and no longer anxious.

I hate wearing that fucking mask, but it really does work.

In light of tariffs and the rumor that #NOISH is shutting down, may I recommend Envo Masks from NH should we be unable to get masks we know are real?

They impressed me when they started offering the plug for the exhale valve and I didn’t want to buy a whole pack of them, so I wrote to them and asked them if I could purchase just one or two since the early versions didn’t have them, and they sent me a couple for free.

Missed #YallMasking due to a mental health break from the Internet after the Biden debate disaster. Did one of those for weeks when his predecessor the deranged narcissist wannabe Hitler got elected and again when Ruth Bader Ginsberg died. Will probably be away more often than not in months ahead.

At the Costco this morning, I saw more people wearing masks than I have at any one location for the past two years. And they were good ones, too, mostly #KN95 which is a whole lot better than a surgical “baggy blue,” plus a few #N95 respirators.

I made a remark about all the masks to a fellow masker and she said something like, gee, you think something’s been happening?

Yeah, I said, maybe people are finally waking up?

It felt great not to be such a freak in the crowd with my #Envomask.

It’s surreal knowing that #Covid causes long-term misery and disability to a tenth of the people getting it, and that a lot of people are being infected right now, and yet nobody appears to give a shit about their own well-being much less anyone else’s. I really never thought I’d see mass delusion on this scale or with these disastrous consequences.

Did a Costco run in my #Envomask elastomeric #N95 and surprised to see a couple of employees actually wearing masks. But it was concerning to me that they were cloth masks; anyone who’s kept up with #Covid developments in the last year or so knows how ineffective those are.

I thought about the last time I tried to convey this info to someone and basically got nowhere. Why should I bother? But couldn’t help myself; this guy’s obviously trying to protect himself.

Nope. He thinks he’s fine. Sigh.
