There are too many digital unliterate that were engulfed with the #enshittified internet and with it took for granted that #bigtech would just demand from you whatever it could get their greedy hands on.
It was normal to have total souverenity about your data, your privacy!, and you would grant, bit by bit, permission. It was normal to be anonymous, because, it is the world watching you, potentially.

I need help (first-world problem)! I want a robot lawn mower. I’ve read articles. They aren’t clear about one thing:

Does every robot lawn mower require a network connection to the company’s servers?

I would prefer to buy one that can’t be #Enshittified if the company goes under or just decides to “stop supporting” the equipment. Otherwise I’m just renting the equipment at their pleasure.

Eventually, #Bluesky will run out of venture capital (since it continues to burn money) and then it will either go out of business or (more likely) become #enshittified.

I've been seeing a lot of videos and blog posts about the resurgence of #piracy in response to #enshittification . A common note is that its a _service_ problem, not a _product_ problem which is correct.

A company that has known this from the get-go and has never #enshittified is #Beatport - they're like iTunes but specifically for #EDM (sorry #bonkwave #genrepolice) I bought my first #DRM -free #mp3 tracks from Beatport in 2004 and (with some exceptions) I can _still download them today_.
