My partner was in the stadium and said that after the match the teams were as generous with the fans as always, it has become a real hallmark of the women's game. The stewards were moving them on and they were apologising to the queue of people they didn't selfie with, even though they'd already been doing it for ages. Great opening game, can't wait to see Ireland on telly on Sunday and in person next week

Look, it was always going to be a hard task for the US, but I was impressed with their first half. The kick-offs/restarts were poor for England.

Botterman, Kildunne and Jones had brilliant games.

Eng v USA in the rugby this evening is an interesting exercise in noticing who I find myself supporting!

Truth be told, this is a bit of a bloodbath right now, so I think at this point I’m hoping the USA can improve things for the sake of the game generally.

The coverage on RTE2 ahead of the opening game (#ENGvUSA) is good - great segment of Ireland's history in women's rugby, current player profiles break down, squad interviews, and Niamh and Lindsey as ex players offering interesting insight.
Ireland have a decent chance in our pool, we can't be over confident but we definitely have the talent, both as a team and individuals, to to do well.
Am so looking forward to the next 6 weeks.
