If I was supposed to discern a specific fruit in this, it was unknowable.

So, at Dollar General I saw G-Fuel's Knuckles the Echidna energy drink called Sour Power. A sucker for gimmicky energy drinks and Sonic the Hedgehog characters, I had to get it.

The flavor is "Sour Power" and let me tell you...it tastes like sweet malic acid. Malic acid is what they put on Sour Patch Kids and other sour candies to make them taste sour. This taste like liquid malic acid with some artificial sugars added in. No specific flavoring, just sweetness.

It was...odd. Not terrible, but odd.

Wouldn't get again.

Tried the Monster Energy Zero Sugar Strawberry Shot.

I liked it.

It did taste like artificial strawberry. In a good way. It kind of had that Monster-esque flavor in the background.

But yea, I liked it.

Went back to Lidl to do some grocery shopping over the weekend and found another Kong Strong energy drink. This one was called "Wild Power" and looked the size of a Red Bull.

It was also 2 for $1.

So, I bought two of the sugar free versions to try later. Let me tell you...it tastes like a Sugar Free Red Bull.

That's it. It's a fantastic, cheaper replacement if you like Red Bull and are on a tighter budget.

Will get again. In fact, plan to stock up next time we're at Lidl.
