Both parties keep us divided because unity would end their control.
That’s the real threat they fear. #UnitedWeRise #EndTheDuopoly

@jonah Great to see that you touched on the #LinuxMobile option. I'm daily driving #postmarketOS on my #Librem5 and it's good enough to do most of what I need - the only thing does not work is recording sound in videos. Even running #FOSS Android apps using #Fdroid, #Obtainium, etc. on #Waydroid works, although the #LibertyPhone with more RAM and storage is better suited for it.

There's also the #FLX1 (runs #Droidian-based #FuriOS) which comes at a more affordable price, and Android app compatibility set up out of the box. I think that is more 'normie'-friendly and has decent specs overall compared to true Linux phones. Camera quality is as good as Android as it uses Android kernel and drivers.

If you were fine with this happening under Biden, but outraged now that Trump is doing the same thing you are a hypocrite and in a cult. #EndtheDuopoly

#ProportionalRepresentation doesn’t just change who wins. It changes who runs. It changes who gets heard. It changes *everything*. #ProRep #EndTheDuopoly #EndPolarization

This article is obviously UK oriented, but it's not hard to see how the two-party system in #California inevitably lets down #lgbtq #lgbtq_plus folks. What's the alternative to voting Democrat when the party's leaders throw trans kids under the bus? How can a tiny legislature with only (barely) two political parties even begin to represent the gender diversity, culture and political diversity of a nation-sized state of 40 million people? #democracy #ProportionalRepresentation #EndTheDuopoly

LGBTQ+ History Month: How voting systems have shaped LGBTQ+ rights and representation - Make Votes Matter

As a young queer student, I’ve so far only had a chance to vote in one national election. I posted my ballot excited to have my voice heard for the first time. Afterwards I was left questioning why I felt I had no true choice.Like millions of others, my vote was cast in a safe seat where it felt almost meaningless. I’ve spoken with queer friends who didn’t bother voting. They didn’t want to choose between voting tactically for a party that didn’t feel right for them, or casting a vote that’s effectively wasted.

More women. More communities of color. More working-class voices. #ProportionalRepresentation creates a government that looks like the people it serves.

"Portlanders just used proportional ranked choice voting to elect their most representative city government in more than a century. Voters chose leaders who form a portrait of the city in miniature. The dozen councilors include three renters, five people of color, six women, eight millennials (one only 28 years old), and residents of twelve different neighborhoods. Most importantly, proportional representation paved the way for a council that reflects Portlanders’ varied political beliefs, full of advocates for different viewpoints from business to labor, from moderates to progressives, and even from animal rights to transportation safety."

Hello fediverse! We're the ProRep Coalition, a growing coalition of smaller parties and pro-democracy organizations working together to bring multiparty democracy to #California. Our goal is to pass a ballot measure in 2028 to establish a system of Proportional Representation in the state legislature. With PR political parties win about as many seats as their percentage of the vote. So voters can finally elect reps from parties other than just Democrats and Republicans.

We can break up the two-party system, in California and the U.S. Please help spread the word! And California residents please sign the statement of support at https://www.prorepcoalition.org/take-action
