🌟 **3D Printer Recommendations Needed!** 🌟
I’m diving into the world of additive manufacturing and need your help!
I’m looking for an inexpensive 3D printer (under $500) that’s perfect for a free and open-source software (FOSS) enthusiast like me.
🔍 Here are my criteria:
- **Budget:** Under $500
- **User-Friendly:** Easier to start with than a Voron 2.4
- **Hacking-Friendly:** I’d love the ability to tinker and customize!
What 3D printer would you recommend for someone just starting out? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments! Your insights will help me make the right choice. Thank you! 😊

Finally had the time to finish calibrating my #Ender3v2Neo #3DPrinter after upgrading to a direct drive extruder and a BTT SKR mini e3 motherboard. It took a lot longer than I wanted, but it was a blast learning what each component does and how to calibrate it. Good practice for a #Voron 2.4 build that I want to do next year.
The first real print is a mount for the filament sensor so it’s no longer taped to the top. And then something to tidy up those cables.
The past few days I’ve been slowly tweaking my 3D printer and slicer settings for the new extruder and hot end. So far I’ve got the first layer dialed in, but I’m still getting some delaminating and bridges look horrible. If you want to learn a lot about how these printers work, all it takes is an upgrade that’s not very common.
