I’ve now played #EndeavorOTC for 2 weeks, a third of the “dose”. I will keep playing 4 more weeks, as directed, but I do NOT recommend this app to anyone with #ADHD at this point.

I understand what the game is trying to do: be mildly fun, but mostly monotonous in order to let my mind get bored, forcing me to focus.

I can’t tell if my focus has improved. I do know after each session, I generally feel more negative about myself than before playing. As a therapy, that’s not a good thing.

EndeavorOTC is an "over the counter" adult version of Akili’s FDA-approved, prescription-only game for children with ADHD.

It recommends 6 weeks of gaming for 25 minutes a day. I started using it this morning. The game mechanics are simple. It was engaging just barely enough to let my mind get ever so slightly bored and then I had to work to focus again. I wanted the 25 minutes to end, but I felt good about what it was making me do.
