Drug-resistant TB can now be treated in Afghanistan with shorter, all-oral regimens.
Treatment can last as little as 6 months, with fewer pills and no injections.
Consult your doctor about the available treatment options. Treatment is accessible and free of charge.

Quote from HananBalkhyحنان بلخي (@HananBalkhy):
On #WorldTBDay, I think of the families behind the numbers: every 34 seconds someone in the @WHOEMRO Region falls ill with tuberculosis, and every 6 minutes a life is lost. Too many are also diagnosed late or not at all.
But progress has been made: 2.8 million people were diagnosed and started treatment between 2020 and 2024, with over 90% successfully treated. This progress is fragile, however, and without sustained investment and accountability, gains can quickly be lost.
The time to act is now. Yes, we can #EndTB.
