I think it is pretty common for people to worry that it is the end of the world. For religious people it might be judgement day and for secular people it might be climate disaster or nuclear war or AI singularity. Whether they make changes or not, the people I know seemed to be concerned. I wonder if it is an instinct that has been ingrained in humans from the repeated collapses of ancient civilizations.
