Fishermen on Lake Victoria are protesting against EACOP (East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline) to protect their livelihoods and the local ecosystems. Eight activists were sentenced to 11 months in prison this week, for engaging in non-violent action.

An elderly Albanian man says Jared Kushner has taken everything he spent a lifetime building, including his land, his home, and the future he hoped to leave behind for his children.
He says he returned home one day only to find his property sealed off behind barbed wire, with men in black uniforms standing guard and refusing to let him step inside his own house.
Another landmark hearing happening today in Aviano. A judge is set to rule on whether nuclear weapons have been secretly stored at the US Airforce base.
The case is part of a criminal complaint by 16 private citizens, including physicist Carlo Rovelli. Concerns over the safety of long-term nuclear weapons storage have been investigated by American journalist Eric Schlosser, who found evidence of more than 1,000 incidents over a ten year period.
