The Coalition for Justice and Human Rights was the org bringing the lawsuit to the city against encampments sweeps. Very apt! Here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada our city seems very reluctant to go after businesses that set up parking lots without permits (and likely thus relevant taxes etc) but they have little issue with evicting unhoused citizens on some of the coldest days we've had (lower than -35°C, plus windchill). 😡😡😡
