Of course, for my DS9 pick the monster turned out to be #Garak, dat rascal!

#Garak was a charming character, but some of these episodes reveal just how violent and ruthless a villain he could really be.

DS9 had some really dark episodes. Dark in story, and dark in lighting.

This episode is scarier than they intended, I think.
