I'm a frequent user of #emojipedia and noticed their article on a #twitter update to the #flag of #iran https://blog.emojipedia.org/x-expected-to-update-its-iranian-flag-emoji-design/ https://github.com/twitter/twemoji/pull/1440/changes which isn;t currently the internationally recognised one. I think politics should stay out of tech as much as possible, and agree with some of the criticisms (eg no flag changes until the regime has changed) to the same request for Google's emoji collection https://github.com/googlefonts/noto-emoji/issues/531
X Updates Its Iranian Flag Emoji Design

Earlier today, X (fka Twitter) updated its design for the 🇮🇷 Flag for Iran emoji within the official Twemoji GitHub. Proposing a historic design for the flag not previously used across emoji keyboards, this change would be the X's first emoji update since its 2024 revisions of the 🔫 Pistol emoji.

Światowy Dzień Emoji 2025 i nadchodzące nowości w iOS 26

Z okazji Światowego Dnia Emoji 2025, Emojipedia udostępniła aktualizowaną na żywo listę najczęściej używanych emoji w USA i na świecie. Jakie nowości zobaczymy w iOS 26 i pozostałych systemach od Apple?

Światowy Dzień Emoji 2025

Numerem jeden pozostaje czerwone serce ❤️, a kolejne miejsca zajmują: znak wyboru ✔️, ogień 🔥, błysk ✨, twarz zalana łzami 😭 oraz czaszkę 💀.

Dane pochodzą z narzędzia Emojitracker, które śledzi najczęściej kopiowane emoji z Emojipedia i GetEmoji. Narzędzie analizuje popularność ponad 1000 emoji w krajach takich jak USA, Wielka Brytania, Indie, Brazylia, Niemcy czy Japonia.

Apple uczciło ten dzień premierą emoji-gry dostępnej dla subskrybentów Apple News+. Potwierdzono też nowe emoji z Unicode 17, które pojawią się w iOS 26. Nowością będzie funkcja Genmoji, pozwalająca łączyć emoji w unikalne obrazki do użycia w Wiadomościach.

Co nowego jesienią?

Unicode Consortium potwierdziło także zestaw nowych emoji, które trafią do Unicode 17 tej jesieni.

Wśród nadchodzących emotek znajdziemy m.in.: puzon, skarb, zniekształconą twarz, stworzenie pokryte futrem (Bigfoot), chmurę walki, ogryzek jabłka, orkę i tancerzy baletu.

Apple rozpocznie pracę nad swoimi wersjami tych emoji po premierze Unicode 17. Nowe znaki trafią na urządzenia wraz z aktualizacją iOS 26, prawdopodobnie w wersji iOS 26.4, na wiosnę 2026 roku.

Dla porównania – wcześniejsze emoji z Unicode 16 pojawiły się w iOS 18.4 i zawierały m.in. worki pod oczami, odcisk palca, drzewo bez liści, warzywo korzeniowe i harfę.

Unicode aktualizuje zestaw emoji co roku, a nowe propozycje może zgłosić każdy.

Ich schaue ja regelmäßig in #Emojipedia nach, was dargestellt ist und wofür das genutzt wird, eben weil ich die #Emojis so uneindeutig finde – was durch die unterschiedlichen Darstellungen je nach System noch verschlimmert wird…
