Preisanreizen.

#Portland's "#CleanEnergy fund wasn’t designed to maximize #EmissionReductions – rather, it was conceived to help protect low-income residents and communities of color from the most severe impacts of #ClimateChange.

Much of it will pay for home-energy retrofits – added #insulation, new windows or #HeatPump systems – in multi-family housing, single-family homes and small commercial buildings."

Will massive clean-energy fund take Portland to its climate goal? No – and that’s not its objective

The Portland City Council is expected to approve $750 million in climate-action projects, the largest-ever climate investment in the city’s history.

Is #greengrowth happening?

"High-income countries have not achieved green growth, and are very unlikely [...] in the future. To achieve #emissionreductions, they will need to
pursue post-growth demand-reduction strategies, reorienting the economy towards sufficiency, equity, and human
wellbeing, while also accelerating technological change and efficiency improvements."

Dutch newspaper @nrc today:
Articles on how aviation managed to keep climate policy at a distance and on the noise problems for people living around Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
And more than 7 pages of advertisements for holidays by plane, including 1 by NRC's own tour operator.

#RepublicansBackLosers: We know they won’t be excited about innovation and will protect the #CascadingCrisis status quo of violent ranchers, big agribusiness lobbies, and corrupt politicians with restrictions on #HungerBenefits, #NutritionPrograms, & land based #EmissionReductions. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-house-republican-farm-bill-approach-may-test-biden-hunger-climate-goals-2022-11-18/
Analysis: U.S. House Republican farm bill approach may test Biden hunger, climate goals

U.S. President Joe Biden's pledges to slash emissions from farming and to end American hunger by 2030 may be harder to realize now that Republicans flipped the House of Representatives with a thin majority.
