On eastbound 40th St at Horton in Emeryville, there are signs to turn right for "California 880" and "California 80." The shields are in the interstate shape, not the California route shape, but they read "California" not "Interstate" and the background is solid blue, rather than having the red interstate stripe across the top. ¿Does anyone know why these signs are styled as such? (Well, I suppose whoever made the sign knows, but ¿why?)
