I agree, but besides any ecological cost, unless there are a wide range of VERY equivalent prompt providers, this would allow “market” concentration and capture of the previously decentralised and resilient #openSource community. #embraceExtendExtinguish — not just for Microsoft anymore.

So MS are the lower-friction option for getting students doing stuff on the cloud (they offer free credits with no credit card needed, unlike Goog, AWS). I was looking to get into the GitLab for Education scheme. You must be a degree-issuing institution to get on that program.
