Was scoping #Twitter / #X just now for Mastodon-related chatter, thinking about the #ads I was scrolling past.
It occurs to me that, as Twitter runs off it's mainstream #advertisers, it actually brings the rest of the site down: back in December 2022, I was noticing ads for blizzard games and people actually selling things, mixed in with all the Nazi and pedo posts that were getting pushed to the forefront. Now, it's pretty much all #scams, #StolenContent sinks, and other #clickbait garbage trying to sneak itself in like it's part of the actual #content.
It's gone from the kind of ads you would see in a place like Times Square to shady hucksters trying to lure you into alleys, to sell you CP, steal your identity, or just waste your time with more ads.
