Now that #ElonMusk has taken over #Twitter, and everyone and their dog are fleeing from the #birdsite to the #Fediverse, i.e. #Mastodon: #WhatIf he bought out #SecondLife? Would people come rushing into #OpenSim?

Would #OSgrid have to close new avatar registration like mastodon.social did because it manages to end up "full", either because everyone automatically piles onto the biggest grid, or because everyone believes OSgrid = OpenSim? Would other grids try to convince converts that, in fact, they are OpenSim?

Would the number of regions on the #Hypergrid with a #sim on them still remain about three times the #avatar count? Or would it even increase because people could finally build what they've been dreaming of, but what would have cost a fortune or been entirely impossible on that big #WalledGarden grid?

How many Second Life refugees would start new public grids? I mean, I've yet to see loads of new Mastodon instances being launched by Twitter refugees.

One thing is clear: They won't all switch to #HorizonWorlds. That'd be the exact same as switching from Twitter to #Facebook.
