6. Why I own it: The fourth book from Ellery Queen. I remember this one fondly. In addition to being a great mystery, it also provides an amazing glimpse into the lives of New Yorkers almost 100 years ago.

COLUMBO creators #RichardLevinson + #WilliamLink wrote this unsold pilot, starring (a miscast) #PeterLawford + #HarryMorgan.

They tried again in 1975 w/ #JimHutton + #DavidWayne, and it worked much better.

Here is my #sherlockholmes introduction.

I am came to Sherlock Holmes in my teens via #ElleryQueen. Then I came upon W.S. Baring Gould's biography. I was fascinated by the idea of filling-in-the-blanks - a fascination which has not left me. In the back of the book was information about the Baker Street Irregulars #BakerStreetIrregulars.
