The Hamas murderers that took this young man hostage also killed his family. He found out only on his release, 16 months later.
During his captivity, he and the other hostages were starved. He acted as a father figure to the other hostages.
"I was scared to hug him too tight as he's so skinny and emasciated," says his (British) brother.
