Today was about #elevation. Run (more power hiked) up to #seegrube and back down again.
It was quite foggy, that gave the #run a somewhat mystical feeling.
The famous part, #hungerburg to #seegrube, took me 55minutes (3km+1020m elevation).
In total it was 19km+1319m #elevationgain in 2:20:48. (Find more details on my strava).

and yes, they are still skiing up there,...

One aspect of US Natural History that I think is overlooked are impact craters beyond Crater Lake in Oregon. One spot in the Midwestern US I recently came across is the Decaturville Crater Impact area in Missouri.

Along Missouri Route 5, drivers would likely noticing the rising and lowering elevation while traversing the highway. Because this is an overlooked natural feature, I think it'd be a great candidate as a Natural National Landmark.

[I used to shore dive in the Straits Of Juan de Fucca, Washington State side, and Crescent Lake - so I chose that area as a CoNED example to explore; good memories, including of the 18 Wheeler Burger with pie & coffee in Joyce, WA on drizzly days]
