More great reporting from #TheGuardian's #EleniCourea and #PippaCrerar on the squabbles within the UK #LabourParty.

"They all think Keir is done’: how push to protect Starmer’s job backfired spectacularly". Now Westminster is awash with plotting to replace #Starmer. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/nov/14/push-protect-keir-starmer-job-backfired-briefing-streeting-mcsweeney

Of course, it's all just a competition to go down in history as chief lemming: the person at the wheel when Labour crashes and burns at the next general election. #Popcorn 🤣 #ukpol

‘They all think Keir is done’: how push to protect Starmer’s job backfired spectacularly

Botched briefing operation was proof to many that PM is leading an ineffectual No 10. How did it go so wrong?

The Guardian

"The minister for policing and crime prevention had her purse stolen at a conference for senior police officers."

Hard to improve this sentence, try as you may. It happens to be a newspaper article (by #EleniCourea), but this would also make for a fine first sentence of a crisp 80-page novel about the vacuity of modern life.

Also a good pitch for the plotline of a TV comedy episode.
