#Electromagnetism experience of the day in the class: magnetic levitation using a B-field opportunely induced by alternating currents.

(from there, I gave the idea of how levitation works for **trains** , as in the #Maglev https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maglev)

Forget about the #SimulationHypothesis and other infections of the mind:

here is the joy of rock solid #electromagnetism, which induces parcels of iron to bounce on a plate and align according to the magnetic field lines of two magnets put just below the plate (in todays EM class)

Another #Electromagnetism lecture, another live experiment: this one is creating the "tomato battery", i.e. using cherry tomatoes to create zinc-copper galvanic cells and power a small electric watch (which needs about 1.5V to work).
the students realise that a single cell is not enough, and a series of two is needed to get enough voltage.

That's the vegan version of the original experiments by Galvani, in which dead frogs were involved..

In my #Electromagnetism lectures yesterday: trying to show the concept of discharge and breaking of a dielectric medium using a "plasma ball".
The innermost part is elevated to a ~10kiloVolt potential by an upward transformation, which is enough to produce plasma sparks in this rarefied medium.
(btw this thing is cool but I tend to break it once a year, which causes a sharp whistle when the mixture of rare gases leaks out - probably radon, krypton & argon)

Under an #electron #microscope, you are almost not even there. It's almost all #space. Why you can't put your finger right through objects has something to do with #electromagnetism, another hallucination. LOL! Look, if you exist after this body, what the fuck is real about this? That part. Booyah!!

Here is the "experiment" of today in the #Electromagnetism class: a tiny replica of the Leiden jar which is a far ancestor of the battery, consisting of a distribution of chargers trapped in in a glass container, which acts as a capacitor when the inner and outer conducting layers are reconnected again.

I used a voltmeter to detect the tiny residual voltage (0.4mV) produced across the bottle after the charging process.

Mind blowing 💥 experiment to show the principle of an electroscope, with high tech material.
Home recorded experiment, under safe conditions, of what I am also going to present in the class.

Okay I happened on a #AI generated video using #RichardFeynman's voice to explain #electromagnetism. But I didn't realize that it was a #deepfake at first. My clue was the "Feynman" in the video kept referred to the "device you're listening to this lecture on" 🤔 I'm thinking that the real Feynman was doing his thing before tablets and personal computers, etc. 🤔 That's when I noticed the disclaimer below the video. In other words, he never said the things in the video. WTF?
