I wish the one #ElectrifyAmerica station in the middle of DC had 6 or 8 stalls instead of just 3. There’s almost always a line.

High-Power Fast Charging Is The Leading Cause For EV Battery Degradation: Report

After all the #ElectrifyAmerica stops from the Bay Area to Phoenix with just 4 or 6 chargers, it was odd to find one in the middle of Santa Monica with 20! Most available.

Still didn’t get anywhere near the 270kW that the car can take.

One thing this holiday's trip was good for was letting me know how fast my #EV can actually charge. Sadly, it seems to max at 102kWh and only between 20% and 50% charge. So. now I know that I don't need to look for super- or ultra-fast stations, I just need fast DC.

Also learned that not all charging stations show up in every app (not even
#PlugShare). Worse, even if you use a specific network's app, the free/busy status for one of their stations may not be accurate (especially #ElectrifyAmerica, seemingly).

Interesting: the first charging station we stopped at on the way home — that was full plus three cars waiting ahead of us — was an #ElectrifyAmerica. The one we ended up at was also EA and was 75% in use (with the idiots in the second slot using our first slot's cable). In the same lot as the second EA charging station was a 12-bay Mercedes power station. Was going to look up how to sign up since of the six cars using it. only one was actually a #Mercedes. Was dicking around in my #ChargePoint app (since that's what I have at home and was looking at the "just got back home" session) and noticed that those Mercedes chargers are available through my ChargePoint app. Guess I'll out those on or Christmas trip?
Feels like this holiday weekend was probably the first weekend some people used public #EV chargers.

Watching people
struggle to pull into charging bays... Worst had to be the codger in the iD4. Took him three tries — a head-in, a back-in and a final head-in — before he could get the cable to reach his port with juuuuust enough slack to twist the CCS-1 head to be at an orientation he could click it into his port. Kudos to #ElectrifyAmerica for having mostly 350kW stations, but their layouts and small sizes (seriously: how you have stations with only four bays, each. when your stations located less than two miles from two major highway interchanges???)

The new #ElectrifyAmerica EV chargers at the Emeryville IKEA are very nice. 10 units (I think the most of any EA in the East Bay) all 350kW and far from the door so they aren’t blocked with gas cars. Currently me, a Lucid Air, an Ioniq 6, and a a Mustang Mach-E.

Second funeral in 2 weeks for my family, ugh. I left #Buffalo early so I could hit up a charging station now, rather than on my way home #ev #chargingstation #electrifyamerica
@milkinaflask Most of the charges were with #ElectrifyAmerica. I had one instance where the NFC reader was broken, so I couldn’t tap to authenticate. I had to use the app the start the session. The one non-EA charger I used had a broken credit card reader, so I had to scan a QR code to pay on a website. Otherwise the charges all started quickly after authentication/payment.
Testing out my #NACS adapter on the #Polestar3. Other than #Superchargers costing a lot more than an #electrifyamerica to charge worked ok. only got about 72KW max and was at 22% when I plugged in.
