- What a #disaster declaration does for their entity (local, state, or federal declarations)
- What #FEMA does beyond 'fixing things' and uninformed opinions from what they've read in 'media articles'
- What types and how much aid FEMA can provide
- What a 'damage assessment' means and is used for
- The expense of a functioning EM organization
- How reliant 99.999% of local, state, and national economies are dependant on this system through the interconnected disaster recovery process

Harris County District Clerk votes to give herself $81,000 raise in grievance committee meeting

Marilyn Burgess' current salary is just over $179,000. She originally asked the county's salary grievance committee, on which she serves, to approve an increased salary of $295,000. The committee end up voting for a $260,000 salary, which now awaits approval by county commissioners.
