In The #ElderScrolls Oblivion, all characters, regardless of profession, start with a basic healing spell and enough Magicka to cast it a few times.

Also, potions are rather expensive and health doesn't regenerate.

This has the amusing result that even burly warriors and sneaky assassins tend to end up also being respectably skilled Restoration mages, purely as a side effect of their efforts to keep themselves alive (and financially solvent).
