So, I went today to Schwyz and did a trail loop from Einsiedeln to Gschwänstock and back. Weather was excellent**, cows & green were out in force, ‘twas very Switzerland.
The part around Gschwänstock was not what I expected - I went there expecting nice views, but instead it was a pretty trail in a mix of forest and moor (ground was definitely splosh-y), which was also nice. I got nice views on the rest of the trail anyway - the Sihlsee is super pretty :)
It was 25km for 1400 D+, which I did in 5h (similar to “the Einsiedler” on https://trail-maniacs.ch/trail-run-einsiedeln/trails/ but I skipped the loop on the south). Well, I’m slow but today slow with trail poles :). But also places where cows have been are surprisingly tricky to navigate, with plenty of hidden holes causing wreck to the ankles :p
**: a bit too much; I did not get out my sun equipment enough and it seems I got sunburns :(
