On #ThisDayInHistory in 1718, #Blackbeard (#EdwardTeach) was killed in battle with the Royal Navy. Having taken damage in a broadside, Lt. Robert Maynard kept much of his crew below deck. When Teach and his pirates boarded, they were ambushed. Teach was shot, stabbed, & beheaded.
