The researchers Steffen Moritz, Stella Schmotz and Laura Hoyer explore where body-focused repetitive behaviors like nail biting, skin picking, or thumb sucking come from, and how we can learn to redirect the underlying impulses.

For the illustration, I visualized this idea quite literally:
a person biting their nails, while inside their head a smaller version of themselves switches the tracks, gently steering the urge onto a new path.

Hallo liebe Leute hier im #pixelfed und #mastodon 🙋🏼‍♀️

Ich habe heute meinen Account von mastodon.social auf pixelshot.it umgezogen, weil ich einen Instagram-ähnlichen Server gesucht habe. Ich kam irgendwie dort nicht klar mit den Funktionen auf Mastodon, es war mir zu "Twitter-ähnlich". Nun probiere ich es hier, bin gespannt 😍

Mein Name ist Danja, mein Label oder Künstlername ist WACHtraum, ich bin #illustratorin und #grafikdesignerin und #neuhier. Da ich meine alten Posts (es waren 5 glaube ich) nicht mitumgezogen habe, fange ich hier ganz neu an.

Meine Illustrationen zeichne ich von Hand auf dem Tablet und benutze dazu Procreate. Ich liebe es, Tiere und Insekten zu zeichnen und mache gerne auf Umwelt- und Naturschutzthemen aufmerksam. Dies mit herzigen, witzigen Illustrationen.

Dieses Bild stellt eine #wasseramsel dar. Dieser Vogel ist der einzige Singvogel, der schwimmen und tauchen kann. Ich hatte ihn an Weihnachten 2024 am Silsersee entdeckt und musste ihn danach gleich in meinem Stil umsetzen.

Ein kleiner Traum von mir ist ein Buch über interessante Eigenschaften von Vögeln zu erstellen. Mit lustigen Bildern und informativem Text. Ihr werdet darum sicher noch mehr Vogelartiges von mir hier sehen.

Ich freue mich auf Gleichgesinnte und Leute, die Freude an meinen Zeichnungen und Texten haben.
