I am coining a new term in #computerscience:

Greenware

Greenware is a catagory of #software designed to make a given device more environmentally friendly. This would normally be done though decreasing power consumption overall, but could also take on more draconian methods, such as:

- Locking out non-vendor certified "#ecogreen" replacement parts
- Disabling power hungry components or features when not using #renewable energy sources (excluding #nuclear).
