I'm not normally a big fan of plots involving #ecofascists because they tend to get them wrong but I was impressed by the subtext of a group of white/imperial core ecofascists throwing a town in Mexico under the bus in #Godzilla2019 in order to awaken #Rodan in their quest to restore the "natural order".

All too often, irl these people are "We gotta save the world and some people will be sacrificed but ofc those people won't be me or my loves and will disproportionately be the poor and brown"

Why do the #ecofascists have to win?

There are right wing politicians talking about "hordes of immigrants" and "securing national borders" in practically every country in Europe and North America. Its just a spit away from the #nazi "blood and soil" arguments.

It is obvious that there are going to be lots of people, millions if not more, fleeing the effect of the #ClimatecCrisis

In fact its already started. There is #war over water and soil taking place right now. The Israeli / Palestine war is just one. Part of the motivation for the not over Syrian Civil War is access to water. The Taliban have launched raids into norther Iran to secure water supplies. One reason for the war in Ukraine is access to some of the most fertile soils in Europe.

People fleeing #NaturalDisasters and #wars caused by diminishing natural resources are desperate. They have literally given up everything they ever had to flee their homes.

How we treat these people will define the age that we live in. We can turn them away or worse or we can put them to work on projects that help alleviate the Climate Crisis. These will require large amounts of labour anyway so its a win, win solution.

The world is watching, we need to act before the #facists take over.
