And my early birthday gift has arrived: Eclipse Collections Categorically by @TheDonRaab. And yes, it’s that big and in colour. Beautiful print, and it smells like a brand-new hardcover book (because it is). Pure πŸ€“ joy!

While I don't know how many #Java developers use #EclipseCollections, I do know that EVERY #Java developer benefits from Eclipse Collections (EC), because it is an active member of the OpenJDK Quality Outreach Program. EC reports issues it finds πŸ‘‡ during its Early Access OpenJDK testing. πŸ‘

#Java forecast this summer is πŸŒžπŸ–οΈβ˜•

The #EclipseCollections repo on GitHub recently passed 2,500 stars. The project marks 10 years at the @EclipseFdn this year. 250 stars per year is modest, but steady growth. Thank you to everyone who has starred the repo, and congrats to the contributors and committers! πŸ™ πŸŽ‰

A simple Multimap and equivalent Map example I wrote today. I hope these examples will help anyone unfamiliar with the differences between these two types. The implementations of groupBy in #EclipseCollections or groupingBy in #Java, should be conceptually similar, but perhaps more obfuscated.
I created two mind maps this week, to fully explore the package design of
#EclipseCollections. I wrote a blog six years ago that that showed a partial view of the packages. I was able to organize the mind maps in an order that made more sense to me. It reminded me why I continue to love mind maps. πŸ™
Only one more year to go on my five year wish list. #EclipseCollections will be at the @EclipseFdn for a decade next year. When I wrote this blog, five years seemed like a long time. πŸ’Ύ Thanks to the EC contributors who granted some of my wishes so far! πŸ™

Next year when #Java turns 30, #EclipseCollections will be 21 years old. I was only a few years older than Java will be next year when I started working on the library. 😲

I wrote this blog last December to capture some of my memories of the journey. πŸ™
