I need #ebicycle but I have few concerns:

1. Thiefs
2. Not easy to take into office space to avoid 1.
3. Good storage to avoid 1.

Reasons I want it:

1. Mobility
2. #Privacy
3. Saving nature

My question is that what are my options? I have also been looking into #onewheel but Im afraid I will hurt myself. Any ideas to solve my concerns?

It is official. I'm closing down the OKPeace.org server at the end of this month of paid hosting.

I do plan to post, hopefully more than in the past, here as well as at @jmb.

* #Oklahoma #History especially about our state's significant history of #Socialism in the 1910's

1. I post often about #politics and #activism, but do not do CW's for these posts unless they deal with especially troubling subjects.
2. I try hard to do alt-text for pictures, but if I forget please don't hesitate to nudge me.

4. I've been posting on the fediverse since 2022. Most of my old posts are archived off-line but I may try to put them online somewhere (in static form) down the road, probably on my blog at www.jmb.mx.

A good day on the ebike today. I got in a total of 37.87 miles, which is 155.1 so far for Jewish year 5784.

My goal for the year is 4200 miles, the length of the TransAmerica Bicycle trail from Yorktown, Virginia to Astoria, Oregon.

I'm expecting my new folding #ebike to arrive today.

It is another #Ecotric Starfish, to replace another Starfish that I have ridden to death.

I debated quite a bit about whether I should get a more expensive bike than this one, but I decided to stay with a cheaper model for the following reasons:

1. I have quite a few compatible batteries now (this bike will give me my 5th battery), which theoretically expands my daily range out to 75 miles or more (assuming I haul the spare batteries on the trailer).

2. The old starfish can be cannibalized as needed for spare parts.

3. It's hard to beat buying an ebike for under $600 (with coupons).

Summary: I did a round-trip ride to Stars and Stripes Park at Lake Hefner to participate in a Reverse Tashlich (community trash pickup) with the OKC Jewish community.

Where I am at on my imaginary ride of the TransAmerica Bike route: Near Charles City, VA

Summary: My journey today took me from Barnes & Noble (near NW 63rd and May), then northward through Nichols Hills and The Village, then a pitstop at HTeaO (for some unsweetened raspberry tea), and then a stop by a friend’s house for a short visit. After that I traveled west to Lake Hefner where I shot some amazing sunset pictures, and then around the lake to the west side, then northward to home.

Another very cool house, not far from the Bruce Goff-designed house.

Grand Blvd in Nichols Hills — once this was the big loop highway that went around OKC back in the day. Today it is one of my favorite places to ride.

One thing I haven't talked about on mastodon yet is that I deliver books to LFL's (#littlefreelibrary) in the #OKC metro area via #ebicycle. The books I distribute are curated and skew in #leftist direction, many from the stash of books I from Father John Vrana when he passed a few years ago.

I also sometimes deliver books further out (but sometimes drive for these) so if your #Oklahoma LFL isn't on the LFL website map, please let me know the location so I can swing by yours from time to time.
