The set-up is very sitcom: glamourous widow must share mansion with snooty in-laws so she invites scruffy uncle (and pal) to join her. But it’s likeable—largely due to Jack Elam and Loni Anderson—and there are laughs to be had. This episode is about two parties on the same evening, one downstairs organised by the snooty couple and one upstairs that Loni’s character calls to cheer up her two rough-and-ready pals. Of course, the upstairs party ends up being a bigger draw for people, much to the consternation of the posh pair. That’s it. It’s harmless fun, and it did make laugh. Written by Sheldon Bull (Newhart, Coach, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Mom). _Fall 1986: NBC aired Easy Street in the second hour of Sunday prime time after Our House and before Valerie (aka The Hogan Family). Against it, ABC had The Disney Sunday Movie while CBS had Murder, She Wrote._ 6/10
