My district council is threatening to take the government to court over its plan to put up asylum seekers in hotels, and it isn't the first.

There was an interesting debate at East Lindsey District Council today about how to invest its savings, and whether it's safe to raise the limits for investing in foreign countries, about crypto, crashes, volatility, and ethics in banking.

There's a debate coming up at council tomorrow about where ELDC can put more than £5m of its savings into any one foreign country. At the moment, the proposal is to change the limit from £5m to £10m. I haven't forgotten the Icelandic banking crisis.
Meanwhile, some of the authorities' savings are in a Qatari bank, because human rights and ecological considerations play no part in the district council's investment decisions. Which is wrong.

This map of EV charging points shows which places are lagging behind. East Lindsey is one of those areas, no surprise. What it doesn't show is how disabled-accessible those charging points are, and that's going to be really important for the transition from petrol. Too few points are easy to use for people with additional needs.
