Woke up this morning to find these scenes waiting for us.
Quite surprised to see snow still on the ground.
I would love to go up the road and poke around in it but we can't get out.
We have not had 43mm in one day before.
And I don't think I've seen the creek quite this high before.
We'll be telling our great grandkids about this event for many millenia to come đ.
We have snow on the hill behind us đł
And it is sleeting here. We are at 500m elevation.
The horses are very unimpressed.
Aaand things keep getting better.
The New England is now closed from the Moonbi hills due to snow.
It's 3â° here and falling. 35mm of rain so far. Rivers across the region are set for moderate flooding tonight.
Roads are closing.
The Oxley highway is closed to Walcha. It looks like 10 to 15cm of snow on the ground.
The New England highway has closed south of Uralla with 5cm on the ground.
Flood warnings for local and coastal rivers are in full swing.
I need to make some origami boats so I can race them down the driveway.
I might even do some online gambling for them and see if I can make some money.
Hi Neverland
It's lunchtime on Saturday and we are halfway (?) through this rain event.
We won't be receiving visitors today, or tomorrow.
Everywhere you look there is moving water. The horses are reviewing their #SwimmingLessons and I am checking our stocks of floaties for those that can't.
Thank dog I have enough Jack Daniels and red wine.
