Sapevo che aveva ripreso in mano la saga anni dopo la prima trilogia, dopo anni di studi letterari e femministi di Le Guin. Ma non mi aspettavo questo cambio di tono e di vicende, urca miseria che spettacolo. Amo tutto.

Lee WatkinsI'm currently re-reading Earthsea. I really like the idea that true power resides in knowing the true names of things and letting them be, i.e. letting things flow according to their own nature. The flip side of this power would be domination, where names are taken from people and things and they are forced to do the bidding of a single will. This seems to be exactly the battle played out in the books, in a different way in each story.

Der erste Band der #Earthsea Saga besticht durch eine für moderne #Fantasy fast untypisch wirkende Einfachheit. Er erscheint unmissverständlich für eine jüngere und höchstens auch für eine Erwachsene Leserschaft gedacht.
Ein liebevoll gestalteter Protagonist und interessante Nebencharaktere werden ergänzt durch vielversprechendes #Worldbuilding und eine #Magie ,deren System es mir besonders angetan hat.
